We are a fairly new not-for-profit organization called Survival. Survival stands for: The international society for the protection of animals, endangered species, their habitat and environment. We rescue all kinds of animals and we are at the point where we can no longer afford to feed them all. We are a very small organization and get very few donations. Our feed bill alone is $3,000.00 a month for the 80 or so cats, 14 older horses that have to eat Equine Senior because they have no teeth, 9 pot bellied pigs, 14 goats, 54 sheep, and 20 dogs. These animals are on several farms, one of which we have to pay rent, the others have donated their land. We are in desperate need of money to feed these animals and pay for medical problems these animals have. I have taken out personal loans for thousands of dollars just to feed them. I have spent several more thousands on rescued animals, and now I have no money left in the bank. I had to sell my car in order to pay a $7,000.00 vet bill on a horse. The only thing I have ever asked in return for all the hours spent, is that these animals are now healthy and are properly taken care of. Presently we have two little kittens with deformed back legs. They have to drag themselves forward with their front legs. We are trying to raise money to feed all the animals and to have surgery for these kittens, so that they can live normal lives. We also have an old dog named Blackie that has saved several children's lives and saved me from a burning house years ago. Blackie has a tumor on his side that should have been removed months ago, but we never had the money to do this. We also have several cats and dogs that need to be spayed and neutered. We desperately need
